Playing UtiliFIT Games

How do I play a UtiliFIT game?

Playing UtiliFIT games is easy! Once you’ve joined a game you’ll receive that game’s activities via any notification method(s) you have enabled.

Once you’ve completed an activity, click on the green I DID IT! button. It’s that simple!

What are the different UtiliFIT game types?

There are a number of different UtiliFIT game types… here’s a brief description of each:

General UtiliFIT Games
These are Deskercise games aimed at getting you up and active throughout your day. Most have an 8 hour duration with activities coming each hour.

Office UtiliFIT Games
These are anti-sedentary Deskercise games with activities specifically designed to be done in an office/desk environment in professional attire.

Focused UtiliFIT Games
Some Deskercise games are designed around a specific focus or discipline, such as strength, cardio, yoga etc…

Some UtiliFIT games send challenges each hour throughout the day, and some are much shorter. Choose the game(s) that work best for you and your schedule!

How do I join a UtiliFIT game?

From anywhere on the FIX HEALTH Platform click on the UtiliFIT panel. Within the UtiliFIT panel you can filter the games list to your liking.

  1. Select a UtiliFIT game that you’d like to play by clicking the game’s title.
  2. You may choose to start your game NOW or use the time selector to adjust your start time forward or backward.
  3. Click on GO to start the UtiliFIT game at the time you specified.

How do I use the UtiliFIT game search panel?

The GAME SEARCH panel offers shortcuts to the games that matter to you most, as well as a powerful search/filter interface to help you find exactly the type of UtiliFIT game you want to play. Here is an overview of the various functions:

Game of the Day
The Game of the Day is set by our coaches to help guide you through your Fitness Program. It is merely a suggestion, as you’re free to play any game you like, at any time.

Game Filters
Underneath the Game of the Day is the FILTER area. Here, you can add or remove tags that filter the game lists below. To ADD a filter, click on the PLUS icon on the right side of the FILTER area, then click as many filters as you like. Click APPLY FILTERS when done. To remove filters, you may either click on an active filter to disable the filter individually, or click CLEAR ALL on the ADD FILTERS screen to clear all filters.

Sort Categories
In the left column of the GAME SEARCH panel you’ll notice Sort Categories that help you quickly navigate to the games you want to play. These categories help you quickly drill into your filtered games list.

Favorite Games
You can bookmark games by clicking on the the HEART icon to the left of each game title. This will save the game to your MY FAVORITES list. To remove a game from your favorites, simply click the lit heart by its name.

Search
You can search for games by title or tag by clicking on the SEARCH sort category and typing in your desired search.

What are those circles to the left of UtiliFIT game titles?

The rings to the left of game titles give you a quick overview of the game’s focus.

BLUE = strength
GREEN = endurance
YELLOW = flexibility

You can tell, at a glance, what the focus of a game is by how much of each color fills the ring. The number in the center of the ring is the game’s duration in hours (represented by an “h”) or minutes (represented by an “m”).

How do I cancel a UtiliFIT game in progress?

To cancel a UtiliFIT game that’s already in progress, view your game’s active turn on the UtiliFIT panel click the RED X next to the game’s title.

How are UtiliFIT games scored?

Most UtiliFIT games feature a base score for completing a challenge plus a Time Bonus for completing the challenge in a timely manner. If you miss a challenge, you can still complete it in your BACKLOG at any time before the game finishes to receive partial points. Backlog challenges are available until time runs out after the last challenge of the game.

How does my Fitness Program affect what UtiliFIT games I can join?

Fitness Programs help you get the just right UtiliFIT experience for you. Each Fitness Program features a different routine scheduled out by our coaches for the Game of the Day and Tracking Items of the Day to help you along to the goal of the program.

Additionally, your UtiliFIT games list will filter to only include games relevant to the Fitness Program selected. If you’d like an unfiltered view, you can de-select the Fitness Program filter on the GAME SELECTION panel.

I missed an activity in a UtiliFIT game. Can I still complete it?

When you miss an activity, it automatically goes into your BACKLOG, indicated by a flashing exclamation point. Click the exclamation point to view your Backlog activity.

You can complete Backlog activities at any time up until the time/countdown of the last activity of the game runs out, at which point the UtiliFIT game will end and any incomplete Backlog activities will no longer be available.

Can I track specific foods that I eat?

The FIX HEALTH Platform is designed as a tool to inspire healthy behaviors, and as such, our goal is not to simply tell you that the Deep Fried Double Bacon Lardinator Burger that you had for lunch has lots of calories and isn’t good for you. You probably already know that.

Rather, we present you with easily achievable healthy diet goals to help urge you to make healthy diet decisions each day as part of a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle… so that you don’t reach for that Double Bacon Lardinator in the first place.

How do I track my steps?

FIX HEALTH will automatically sync steps from many of the most popular activity tracking devices on the market, including devices from Fitbit, Jawbone, Misfit, Withings and Apple. For more on how to connect your device to FIX HEALTH, see “How do I connect my pedometer?” below.

User Stats, Leveling and Dashboard

What are Knucks?

Knucks (short for knuckle bumps) are your points in FIX HEALTH. You can receive Knucks for playing UtiliFIT Games, tracking your healthy diet, exercise and lifestyle activities, and for steps.

NOTE: While A Step Ahead challenges run on the FIX HEALTH Platform, they have a scoring structure that operates independently of FIX HEALTH Knucks. See the A Step Ahead section for more information on A Step Ahead scoring.

I see that I have a level... what is that?

Your User Level determines the activity types and intensity of the UtiliFIT activities you receive. As you level up, you unlock new UtiliFIT games and features, and the UtiliFIT activity engine intelligently gives you more advanced moves and more reps.

What are those strength, endurance and flexibility icons I see all over?

Each activity in UtiliFIT is tied to 3 attributes: strength, endurance and flexibility. As you complete activities, you receive escalations to your User Level in those categories based upon the type of activity you complete. For example, squats are a strength activity and would therefore increase your Strength Attribute.

As your strength, endurance and flexibility attributes level up, so does your overall User Level.

I'm an exercise beginner... is UtiliFIT for me?

Yes! UtiliFIT is designed to start easy enough for anyone, including absolute beginners. As you improve and get better, UtiliFIT intelligently ramps up with you.

If you find, for any reason, that UtiliFIT scales up too fast for you, you can lower your difficulty level at any time.

To change your difficulty level, from anywhere on the FIX HEALTH Dashboard click on the USER MENU in the top right corner and select USER SETTINGS, then select PROFILE under the ACCOUNT tab.

Use the DIFFICULTY LEVEL dropdown to select your desired difficulty and click SAVE to finalize. You can change this setting at any time.

I'm an athlete... is UtiliFIT for me?

Yes! While the game starts out easy enough for anyone, you can increase (or decrease) the difficulty level at any time.

To change your difficulty, from anywhere on the FIX HEALTH Dashboard click on the USER MENU in the top right corner and select USER SETTINGS, then select PROFILE under the ACCOUNT tab. You can opt to play the game at a higher difficulty level, play at your earned level, or even decrease the difficulty if you like. You can change this setting at any time.

What are Weekly Progress Stars and how do I get them?

Each week, FIX HEALTH rates your healthy behaviors and assigns you a Star Rating. Your Star Rating is based on several key areas of healthy living:

  • How active vs. sedentary you’ve been
  • If you’ve achieved (or surpassed) the U.S. Department of Health’s minimum recommended amount of exercise (150 minutes per week)
  • Your healthy diet and lifestyle decisions

Our star system is designed such that any one category can only get you so far. If you want a full 5 star rating for the week you’ll need to live a well rounded lifestyle that takes into account all of the above: activity, exercise, diet and lifestyle. You can do this by playing UtiliFIT Deskercise Games and tracking your exercise, diet and lifestyle decisions in the FIX HEALTH Tracker.
